As you may already know, the new Stimulus Bill, known as The American
Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009, was signed into law on February 17,
2009. The bill extends and modifies the tax credits established by
the Energy Tax Policy Act of 2005.Under
provisions of these bills, homeowners are eligible for a tax credit of 30%
of the cost for energy efficient upgrades to their homes, up to a maximum
of $1,500.
Note that this is a tax credit, or refund, not simply a
reduction in your taxable income.
In other words, the federal government is going to pay
for 30% of the cost of qualifying improvements, up to a maximum of $1,500
per homeowner.
New windows are one of the types of improvements that
qualify for this tax credit. However, only the most energy efficient
windows qualify. Not all Energy Star windows meet these new
guidelines.
However, ALL of the replacement windows from Gion
Exteriors meet or exceed these new guidelines. We'll provide you
with the right windows for your home, as well as the necessary
documentation to prove eligibility for this tax credit.
Then you can enjoy your new windows, and the money they
save you, while the government picks up part of the bill!
